I’m a lazy bum when it comes to skincare. My routine involves applying some amount of moisturizer after bathing on my body and face, and that’s about it. Lately, the moisturizer has been replaced by sunscreen, but that’s as far as my attention to caring for my skin goes. The main reason for this is that I do not trust cosmetics. I’m a DIY enthusiast but lack the knowledge and enthusiasm when it comes to doing so for my skin and body. So, this book was nothing short of an answer to my woes. More so, because, it coincides with the onset of Summer here in the Netherlands (unlike India, where it’s already Monsoon in some parts).

So, for people like me who live outside India, this book is a highly recommended one, especially if you’re someone like me who is
a. Lazy about skincare and want to do so with the least bit of effort
b. Do not trust cosmetics
What I liked about the book:
- All the tips and tricks are easy and doable for novices, amateurs, and beginners (like myself)
- It is an extremely short read and more like a guidebook
- The ingredients mentioned for creating the skincare pastes and even the juices are nothing exotic. They are all part of our everyday kitchen essentials so making them would be no hassle at all.
- The book highlights the benefit of each ingredient and how and why they need to be a part of our summer care routine.
What I did not like about the book:
- Because it talked a bit about dietary supplements, I would have liked it if it also mentioned a few summertime physical activities and exercises.
