Hello Summer, Poems

Which Flavor?

Image edited by the author on PowerPoint

An outing,
for a cup or cone of ice-cream
A season of creating
flavorful memories

Child, adult, elderly
Age no barrier for this delicacy
Liked, loved, savored,
Before, after, or during a meal, or any time in between

Makes the sun bearable
Even enjoyable
Isn’t it amazing?
How a simple dish leads to more than just satiating one’s hunger?

Summertime means school holidays, gorging on mangoes, ice-creams and popsicles, water-related activities and games, trips and tours, camping and adventures with friends and family, and so much more. Do you have memories and special times attached associated with this season too? I’m planning to do a series of poems and essays related to sunny days titled ‘Hello Summer’.

Join in if you have a summertime anecdote you’d like to share in the form of poems or essays

  1. I don’t have a poem or anything like that to share, but I do have fond memories of summers while growing up. I remember that one year, my mom took us to play miniature golf every Wednesday (some sort of special on prices was happening). My little brother and I got quite competitive! It was a whole lot of fun 🙂
