A scar on the face,
Big, ugly, and visible.
It made people notice and ask.
Some with concern,
some with curiosity and gossip.
“Are you alright?”
“Does it hurt?”
“What happened?”
Over time, it healed, and the pain was gone.
But, something remained.
What caused the pain,
The person who caused it,
The words that led to it,
The actions that came before and after it.
That continued to give her a scar,
That got bigger day by day.
Yet, sadly, nobody noticed,
Neither asked out of concern,
nor for mere gossip.

This scar is an iceberg of agony due to abuse, as I can see it. Wish she frees herself sooner from the clutches of it.

Yes, many like her who need to come out of the clutches of scars that are not visible to the naked eye.
