Exhausted

Photo by Elyas Pasban on Unsplash

“I can’t do this anymore”

“I need a break”

“My mind is numb”

“My body pains”

“My head hurts”

Different forms of saying,

All signs which show,

That you are exhausted,

That you can’t do it anymore.

They’re signals from your body and mind,

Asking you to take some rest,

From the task at hand,

Whether it is something you love or something you don’t enjoy doing,

Sometimes physical, sometimes mental, quite a few times emotional too.

Doesn’t matter who or what caused it.

The only thing that needs attention,

is getting rid of what’s causing it.

Permanently if it’s something you dislike, and if possible.

And at least for a while, if it’s something you want and wish to get back to.

  1. The busy pace of life which is all demanding is sure to leave every one of us exhausted at some point in time or other. As you rightly said, one needs to go to the root cause and work on it to overcome its insurmountable burden.
