Blurb (as on Amazon):
In Lifetimes to Come, a short collection of twelve poems was written during various challenging moments of the author’s life. Each poem draws the reader into the inner turmoil and obstacles faced by people in their day-to-day lives. The reader will be taken on a roller coaster ride across heightened emotions, that are brought to light through experiences of pain, depression, suffocation, separation fear, hope, and death. Written from the heart and soul, In Lifetimes to Come is created to allow us to reflect on the more difficult moments of our lives and embrace them with open arms.
Genre: Fiction/Poetry
Pages: 38
Format: Kindle eBook/Paperback/Hardcover
My Rating: 4.4/5
A short read of 12 poems. Every page and every verse brings in different emotions, sometimes sweet and sometimes sad, making your heart break and even bringing on a smile.
What I liked about the book:
-> The poems are simple and not very hard to understand.
-> The topics of the poetry are relatable such that when you read them, you will feel them better.
-> It lets you feel how a person goes through different emotions and what these emotions bring along with them.
-> The photos/images with every poem make the readers connect easily with the written word.
What I did not like about the book:
-> Though I’m a lover of short reads myself, this one was way too short. You just start to warm up to the words in the book and it ends.
Quotable quotes:
–> Oh mirror, I do so love your honesty
You soothe the turmoil of my mind
The beauty you reflect brings a smile to my face,
I leave my insecurities far behind
-> Let go my love, you must let me go
For now I must travel alone,
Our journey together just slowed down to an end,
And I can’t take you where I must now go,
Hurt not my love,
Strengthen me with your smile.
-> Do not mistake my vulnerability,
For I am strong and will push you back.
-> Against all the odds,
I’m breathing, I’m battling, I’m still alive.
