Choices & Consequences

Good, evil, right, wrong
A matter of perceptions
Not always true though
Action, choice, consequences
Does it affect more than one?

Today is the Hindu festival of Dussehra. It marks the day when Lord Rama vanquished Ravana. It symbolizes the victory of good over evil and sends out the moral that right always wins. I have tried to bring out the message of this day through the Tanka form of poetry here. In this day and age, I find it difficult to have an unbiased judgment on what’s right and what’s wrong because it is all a matter of perception; a grey area so to speak.

However, asking ourselves, the simple question,

“Do my actions and choices negatively affect more than just myself?”

If the answer is yes, then you need to rethink your decision. For me, it’s as simple (or as complicated) as that.

Happy Dussehra, everyone.

May you find the balance between right and wrong.
