No Entry Without Permission

It is likely that somebody crossed a line,

Many eons ago,

Before privacy and personal space,

were clearly defined.

Probably someone thought out loud or in their mind,

“Hey, I don’t like you being so close to me.”

Or “I wish there was a way to stop people from entering a certain space I can call my own.”

Or “Can there be a way to shut people out?”

Or, “Should we have a system where people need to ask for permission before coming too close?”

And maybe that’s why we have doors.

Both physical and emotional.
